How we got here

From a global conversation to an open invitation

Participants in 24 Hours for Change in Education were brought together in small international groups around shared interests. Their conversations surfaced questions, tensions and promising ideas. Those insights were synthesized, researched and shaped into two project drafts. Now the circle opens.

Project 1 · Student agency

Thriving Together

The Global Learner Agency Lab

Students in different parts of the world design and test meaningful local actions that help people thrive—then learn from one another across contexts.

The idea: move beyond talking about student agency by creating real opportunities for students to choose, act, adapt and take responsibility.

  • Authentic evidence of agency, growth and contribution
  • A shared atlas and multimedia stories of student agency

Project 2 · Human futures

Human Futures Lab

One Planet, Many Contexts

Students and educators investigate a real sustainability challenge, use AI critically, take informed local action and share learning across communities.

The central question: how can we use AI—without surrendering human judgement—to understand and improve a sustainability challenge in our community?
  • Local evidence combined with community knowledge and experience
  • Critical and responsible use of AI as one source among many
  • Educators as designers, experimenters and knowledge contributors
  • A Human Futures Atlas connecting diverse local investigations

There is more than one way to help

Contribute from where you are

Open collaboration does not require everyone to do the same thing. A thoughtful question, a relevant resource or a local example can be as valuable as joining a pilot.

Each project page includes a contribution form where you can suggest an idea, share a resource or explain how you would like to participate.

The invitation is not simply to endorse the projects. It is to help make them more inclusive, credible, adaptable and useful.
